How does Reflexology work?
Reflexology is based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that are connected to corresponding areas of the body. Gentle pressure and massage is applied to the feet with the reflexologists thumbs and fingers, stimulating the bodies natural healing process, releasing blocked energy and correcting imbalances.
A full treatment lasts approximately one hour. You will be warm and comfortable and able to fully relax during treatment. Only the feet and sometimes the lower leg are worked on, so you can remain fully clothed, only removing shoes and socks.
Who can have reflexology?
Most people can benefit from reflexology. There are some medical conditions that are incompatible with reflexology, however you will have a full consultation before we begin treatment and if there is any doubt your GP will be consulted for confirmation that treatment may go ahead. If it is not possible to work on the feet, the hands can be used in the same way.
